For those of you who are die-hard travel enthusiasts as well as individuals who desire to see more than just Marmaris' beautiful resorts, we have a fantastic Marmaris Cappadocia Tour for you.
We begin our Marmaris Cappadocia adventure with a 770-kilometre drive to the ancient city of Cappadocia. We'll be riding in comfortable little buses for this long journey because of their length, and you'll travel in fully equipped busses that are cooled by an air conditioning system throughout the trip. After a 13-hour ride, we will arrive at Cappadocia and have a hearty breakfast on the road.
We'll begin the trip with a drive to North Cappadocia's northern regions. The magnificent Uchisar Castle, which features numerous rooms and hidden passageways cut into the mountain rock, will be our first stop. Second stop is the Goreme Open Air Museum, one of Turkey's UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It houses beautiful churches carved into mountainsides with incredible frescoes on their interiors.
Let your follow the signs to Cavusin Ancient Greek Village, which has Saint John the Baptist's cave church. This temple is more significant than other cave churches and comprises three rooms instead of one.
We'll then go to Pasabag, which has fairy chimneys with three or two caps on top. Following lunch, we'll visit the chapel and hermit's shelter carved into one of the three-capped Pasabag chimneys. We'll next stop at Avanos to see their red clay pottery making. Local potters obtain their vibrant crimson clay from the Red River, which borders their region.
Another place to visit is Devrent Valley. The Moon Crater, also known as Devil's Sea, is a beautiful lake with strange rock formations in Devrent Valley. We'll visit Urgup and see its massive fairy chimneys, as well as a traditional carpet factory in Goreme, where you can learn how the renowned Turkish rugs and kilims are made. Then, on the way back to your hotel, our guide will take you on a relaxing drive.
We've reserved a stunning Hot Air Balloon Flight for the adventure seekers among you. Please note that a separate excursion is required in addition to hot air ballooning in Cappadocia. Breakfast will be served upon arrival at the venue, and you may enjoy your flight from above. The rural Cappadocian valley scape will leave an impression on you from up above.
When we reach our point, our team will have a party with champagne. You'll receive your own Hot air Balloon Flight Certificate at this time. Then you and the driver will go to the Cappadocia Inn for breakfast. The Standard flight lasts at least an hour, while the Deluxe one is longer than that.
We will then continue our Marmaris Cappadocia Tour after breakfast. The driver will take us to the Derinkuyu, where we will continue on foot. We'll get a quick look at Hittite's magnificent underground city first thing. These towns were not intended to be lived in permanently; instead, they served as temporary shelters during wartime. In Ihlara Valley, we will later take a long walk along the Melendiz River.
The Selime Valley, which still retains a sense of Ottoman rural life, is about a two-hour drive from Konya. The valley once housed over 4,000 homes and had over 100 churches carved into its cliffs. After this excursion, we'll have lunch at the enormous Selime Monastery, the most significant religious building in the area. Following that, we'll go to the amazing Pigeon Valley, which is home to hundreds of pigeon coops carved into its rocky slopes. It's unknown why the people kept creating so many pigeon homes. Others claim that the droppings were used to make explosives, while others believe they were high-quality fertilisers. The onyx factory in town will be our final stop before returning home, and you'll get to see how these beautiful precious stones are formed and transformed into jewellery in this unique operation.
You must be in great physical condition and healthy to participate in our Marmaris Cappadocia Tour. Bring a pair of comfortable shoes, sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses.
The Marmaris Cappadocia Tour will begin with a visit to the magnificent Uchisar Castle, which is carved into the mountainside and boasts many rooms and hidden passageways. The Goreme Open Air Museum will be the next stop, and this magnificent museum is part of UNESCO's World Heritage List. Our next stop will be the Cavusin Old Greek Village, which features Saint John the Baptist's cave church. This church is unusually modest compared to other churches of the same genre. It has three rooms, which were rebuilt from the original. Because they could fall, the support structures of this church were straightened and incorporated into the walls, resulting in the formation of three rooms. We'll then travel to Pasabag, where some great fairy chimneys have double or even triple caps on top. We'll then continue our journey to St. Simeon's chapel and a one-of-a-kind hermit's cabin carved into a three-capped chimney before stopping at St. Simeon's chapel again. Then we will go to Avanos to observe how they make red clay pottery. Locals collect the lovely red clay that flows down the Red River to create ceramics.
The Devrent Valley is the next stop in Marmaris Cappadocia, where you may see a moonscape with many strange rock formations. Then we'll go to Urgup, where we'll be able to see more enormous fairy chimneys than usual. We'll then go to a carpet factory in Goreme, where you will witness how lovely Turkish carpets are created. Following this tour, your driver will return you to your hotel.
Your driver will be picked up from your hotel and driven to the Derinkuyu, where we will walk. We'll see a genuine missionary school, stables, cellars, and more in the Hittite underground city. No one built these cities to stand for lengthy periods but rather as a refuge from attackers and shelters that could endure invasions from enemies. After that, we'll have a pleasant stroll along the Melendiz River through Ihlara Valley's gorgeous Ihlara Gorge.
After lunch, we'll visit the Selime Monastery, the tallest religious structure in this region. The next stop is the lovely and renowned Pigeon Valley, which features hundreds of beautiful pigeon homes carved into its mountain slopes. It's never been stated why the local people continued to construct dovecots. Some claim that the dove droppings were collected as fertilizer, while others maintain that they made explosives. The granite quarry will be our next stop, where you can learn more about how these magnificent gemstones are formed.
On our journey through South Cappadocia, we'll return to Marmaris. After this fantastic excursion to Marmaris, we'll hit the roads once more.
